Abstract |
Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) affects 10-30% of women of reproductive age, often leading to physical and emotional distress. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the effectiveness of selected nursing interventions in improving self-care and quality of life (QOL) among Indian women with AUB at a maternity tertiary care centre in Chennai using a quasi-experimental, non-randomized control group design. Nursing interventions, including education on symptom management, lifestyle modifications, and personalised support, significantly improved self-care and QOL in the experimental group. A comparison of pretest and post-test scores confirmed the effectiveness of these interventions, with demographic factors influencing patient outcomes. Thus, the importance of structured nursing interventions in enhancing symptom management and overall well-being in women with AUB is reported. |
