Abstract

The use of a visual analogue scale to compare and assess the pain, comfort, and efficacy of transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS) with 2% lignocaine during extraction is of interest. This comparative prospective study was conducted with 20 patients where 10 patients underwent extraction under TENS and other 10 patients with 2% lignocaine. Pain and anaesthetic assessment was performed. TENS is non-invasive and safe to use, making it far more effective in removing dental injection-related anxiety.
